Golden Tiki

Keen eyes can find the Disney influences throughout this treasure trove of a tiki bar.

There’s a lot to look at inside Golden Tiki, one of Las Vegas’s most popular tiki joints. There’s the flickering night sky on the ceiling, the (fake) shrunken heads of celebrities hung along the walls, the phallic stained-glass art above the bar, plus the Disney-inspired animatronic birds that spew dirty jokes. The bar was conceived as “an adult Disneyland,” and the connection continues with offerings like Dole Whip, which is a favorite concession at the theme park’s Tiki Room. Unlike at Disneyland, though, at Golden Tiki you can get your Dole Whip with rum or as part of a cocktail like the Viking Tiki Negroni, where it’s spiked with vermouth, mead, and aquavit.

Golden Tiki serves both classic tropical drinks and in-house concoctions, from citrus-y, boozy Navy Grog to the Rings of Saturn, a blend of gin, citrus, and passion fruit. If you want your drink to catch the attention of the whole bar, however, ask for the bartender to flame it. It’s only a dollar more in return for an eye-popping tower of fire sprayed above your drink.

There’s a lot of entertainment on the menu. Not only can you have your drink lit on fire, but you can order it in a hollowed-out pineapple or in a fishbowl with straws for two to four people. Golden Tiki also offers rum flights, as well as a flight of three of its most popular drinks—the Painkiller, Mai Thai, and Piranha Punch. To sop up all the booze, there’s also a food menu which ranges from crab Rangoon to a Hawaiian-style plate lunch.

Know Before You Go

Golden Tiki is open 24 hours, but if you'd like to go in the evening or on a weekend, it's best to make a reservation.
